Military Leave - Payment for Missed Service Credit
All reservists in the Fire and Police Departments of the City of San Antonio should contact the Pension Fund Office upon your return from military duty. This correspondence serves as notice that Article 6243o, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes (the Pension Law governing our pension fund) specifically allows those members who were on military leave an opportunity to pay back the pension contributions that would have been paid had they remained on active status.
To avoid penalties, missed contributions must be paid within a period of three times the length of your military service, up to a maximum of five years.
